Details: One subject. 20 minutes. Yields a gallery of 5-7 images. Available to current clients only. Additional subjects can be added for $25 a piece. (Coupons and other specials not applicable.)

It was another fun session with our friends - the Piedimonte family. We can't say it enough that it truly touches our heart when we watch a family "grow up" before our eyes (or lens!) We've photographed Miss W since she was a preemie, and it's such a blessing to see how big and strong she's grown over the past couple of years. And her big bro M is sure to breaks hearts all over town with his gorgeous curls and dark eyes. Yes, these kiddos have the keys to our hearts!

For this session, we decided to explore the charm of historic downtown Independence. It worked well with their rock-n-roll attitude that afternoon. Enjoy!

Sometimes it takes the unexpected to remind you how pure love can be. I'm always reminded after a newborn session of how much I love my kiddos. (And how incredibly tiny they used to be.) And, most usually, I'm inspired to love on my family just a bit more after a day of family sessions. But weddings and engagement sessions aren't usually my specialty. (Not becuase I don't like them...we just don't have the time on the weekends.) As a favor to my favorite cousin Chad, I agreed to capture their engagement photos. I spent gorgeous spring afternoon photographing him and his bride-to-be. We explored their favorite spots in Kansas City: The Plaza, Westport, the Madrid Theatre and the Liberty Memorial. I fully expected to have a great time, because Chad always makes me laugh. I had no doubt that Jeana would be equally as entertaining. But I had a wonderful surprise. It was an unexpected reminder of the magic of marriage. I can't really describe it, so hopefully these pictures will do the talking.

I witnessed love and hope and faith and beauty and all of the wonderful things that go along with two people planning their lives together. I was reminded of when I got engaged 12 short years ago and the major things that have happened in my life during that time. So often, it's easy to "forget" about true love when you're paying bills and changing diapers - so thank you to Chad and Jeana for reminding me of what "it's" all about. Much love to you both. Wishing you a magical lifetime together.
